Replanting

CrazyCrazy Posts: 3

we have removed several shrubs from a small piece of garden so we could renew the fence. There are lots of roots left under the surface which I am unable to remove myself. Will it be alright to replant some new shrubs or will the old roots be a problem?

    What shrubs are they?

As long as you refresh the soil and add some rootgrow and bonemeal to the planting hole it should be ok, but it would help if we knew what shrubs they were to be definite.

the ones that we took out were mostly ivy, honeysuckle and couple of evergreen bushes. Havnt bought new ones yet.

There may be roots of both honeysuckle and ivy left, so spray them with glyphosate if they reappear or dig them out by hand, otherwise after a refreshand some manure, you should be able to replant straight away.

Thank you. Have sprayed them with glyphosate already so will keep watching to see if they reappear.
