Hy guys we rescued this little bird from our cat yesterday, it has taken up residence in the cold frame, what's the best thing to do for it.
Leave it alone and its parents might carry on feeding it. It's chances are poor though with a cat about
Yes, leave it there, parents will be distraught, but keep the cat away for the moment.
Have lowered the lid on the cold frame. The cats can't get in, but it and it's parents can Get in and out.
Hi Bal, how's the bird? Is it still there?
If the parents can still feed it, it should be ok - just keep the cat away - can it fly? might be in shock at the moment.
Our cat took a blackbird 2 years ago, she took out all of it's tail feathers so it couldn't fly but I know someone who takes in injured birds so she took it away. It lived in her aviary for about 6 months and then she released it into her garden where it's still living very happily. Do you know anyone who could take it on? Sometimes worth phoning RSPCA for local contacts.
Hope it's all right
