lobelias

I am having problems with my lobelias. After germinating they have seemingly stopped growing. They are only half a centimetre high and have remained so for a week or so. My alyssums on the other hand are thriving

Are these bedding lobelias like these? http://apps.rhs.org.uk/plantselector/plant?plantid=1182

I've noticed in past few days everything has slowed down and I think it is the cold.

Yes, they are Upright Lobelia (Crystal Palace)

  • I agree with artjak although I am a complete amateur and new to gardening I have been watching & checking my seedlings with quite an over the top regimental fashion, the past few days the temperature has dropped by quite abit which has caused alot of my seedlings to slow down in growth my lobelia's are to the one's that seem to have suffered the most.

I agree, the cooler spell has slowed things down a bit but hopefully, from today things are going to warm up a bit.

Also, if your seedlings are still in their seed compost they'll need pricking out/potting on into some compost which has a bit higher nutrition (seed compost has very little) as soon as they're large enough to handle - I would use John Innes No. 1 loam based.

My lobelias, after germinating two weeks ago, are still not growing.
