No Aconites yet

I planted some winter aconites last year - as small green plants with yellow flowers. So far there is no sign of them. Did I do something wrong or do they sulk for a year or so? Any advice welcome!

I think it may be that they'll peep out in a while .... maybe they're not convinced that spring's coming yet image

Hopefully they will appear.  Being woodland plants they do need shade in the Summer to emulate tree foliage and stop them drying out.  I didn't provide that the first time I grew them and only one came up the next year. image

I couldn't get them going here for years though they seeded everywhere in my last garden. They're beginning to take off now.

  • Mine are flowering now...oes i good compost are fine, those i poor soil seem to have disappeared.
