Will pruning large shrubs help heatwave recovery?

If yes, how much? I was thinking mainly about a large hardy fuchsia but others have suffered too.

Only if you’re sure your not going to get another one to crisp all that tender new growth you will promote! My feeling is that if another comes along it would put shrubs under more stress, so I’m leaving dealing with my crispy critters till summer’s end. Maybe just snip off any really ugly bits for now?
