Problems with gooseberries

My gooseberries were looking great but not quite ready to pick after a blisteringly hot week we had torrential rain and thunder storms for a couple of days by the time (about 3 days) I went to harvest them they had all gone brown even the red ones had turned brown I would be grateful for any ideas

    It sounds like gooseberry mildew
Some info from the RHS here-
Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Thank you for the link Pete.8. I didn't know that it could affect blackcurrants too but I do now.
  • fortunately I have harvested the Blackcurrants! I will keep an eye on the plants though

Sorry to say that we harvested our gooseberries in total last week and had a great collection. Thankfully before the sawfly attacked.
