What's this?

Hi there
Does anybody know what this is? It keeps popping up in my front garden on the flower bed and lawn and it appears to spread underground via roots. I've no idea what it is and I keep pulling it up but i don't know if I should leave it. I've looked in books and online but I can't seem to recognise it. Does anyone have any idea what it could be??

Thank you so much! I instantly recognised the flower when I googled it but I had no idea it was part of the same plant. Thank you for that it's been bothering me for ages!
