Does anyone know why this willowherb has grown this way?

    The honeybees love it and theres not a huge amount else flowers at this time of year. 😊🐝🐝

    what I like about willowherb is that they’re so easy to pull up. Wish all weeds were like that.

    Loads of other plants which are good for insects at this time of year - all the daisies for example - Heleniums, Rudbeckias, Helianthus, Asters, Shasta daisies etc.   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Only the annual willowherbs are easy to pull up, @Ilikeplants.  Rosebay willowherb, which is what the OP has, I think, is perennial and has deep, thick roots which spread widely.  Not good news in a flower bed...   :/

    Thank you for all your comments. I'm very lucky to have a big enough garden where I can have wild areas for pollinators so I dont have to worry about spread in flower beds... 🌸🐝🌺🐝
    But ground elder... Now theres a different story!!
