The bad weather/wind has snapped all the growth from my valentine off at ground level. As it was new this year do you think it will have built up enough roots and energy to grow again next year, or have I lost it.
Mine put in this May, had flowered well and put on lots of growth tripling in size. It was still very green (with the lovely dark/red stems and dark leaves, but this morning it was flat to the ground and broken. Do hope it comes back.
I think it'll be fine too. They're pretty robust. The fact that it had grown a lot, is almost the problem. Lots of susceptible growth for weather to affect it. Mine often get a bit battered by weather, and although the foliage is browning/disappearing at this time of year, the stems can get flattened. It comes back no problem.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
My white has just about died back but this one was still very green and would have lasted a couple of weeks more, much longer than the white or pink. I do like this one.
