hi, anyone any idea what is the problem with this Rhododendron plant please apart from the fact it looks destined for the bin. We've others in the garden that aren't affected, thank you
looks like it's been left to become bone dry at some point. Have you checked the roots to see if it's vine weevil? No idea if they're fond of rhododendrons though.
It should be in the ground, it won’t be happy in a little bucket, if it was mine I’d dump it and buy another. In my opinion once a plant has been left to get that stressed, it takes a long time to recover, if ever.

I'd agree. That's got little, to no, chance of ever reviving.
Adult weevils will munch the foliage Hosta, but in my experience, they don't really go for the roots in any way. Having said that - a weak plant in a pot could be vulnerable. I can't see any damage to the folaige though, so it's probably unlikely.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
