Cherry possibly??

Moved into a new house recently and have this fruit tree. Believe it to be some sort of cherry but not sure what kind. Can anyone identify and also would these be edible on their own or could they be used in jams, pies etc.?? Thanks in advance.

    crab Apple maybe, Cherries don't have those little tufts at the end, nor do plums

    Thank you. I originally thought they were crab apples but my neighbor said he thought they were some sort of cherry. Should've trusted my own instincts.
