Old seeds

I was thinking of emptying the contents of my seed box in  a cleared patch down the end of the garden. It might be interesting to see what I get -if anything. God knows what the muesli rattling about outside the packets contains.
I might even get a cottage garden - or not.
I can't bring myself to throw them away otherwise.

@B3 , you could try the seed swap thread, you might be able to exchange them for something else ?

@AnniD some of them are very old and some loose and mixed. I doubt anyone would want them.

I think it might be fun to sow them. Who knows. In a few month's time I might be posting shedloads of ID requests

You may even come up with a new variety and become rich and famous......

The least you will do is feed the wildlife.

Or you could sow them in seed trays and put them outside somewhere. You're less likely to weed out something you didn't know you had that way.

Some seeds have a surprisingly long life - rather like some of the stuff in your food cupboard as you know  B3 :D
I'd go for Raisingirl's advice rather than just chucking them anywhere - be easier to see if you have a gem rather than a dog ( apologies to dogs ).
