creating a potting shed from scratch

Hi,  I am going to convert my old garage into a potting shed.   I am looking for ideas on what I would need to cover all my bases.   Anyone have any ideas or know where I could look on line for ideas.   I want somewhere to pot up new plants, keep plants over winter, set seeds etc

    Are you looking for advice on rebuilding/modifying the structure or on what tools etc. you will be most likely to use in it?

    If you want to keep plants you will need light, a lot of it. Does your garage have this?
    I have my potting bench on the outside of my summerhouse (garage size). I put some shelf up above the bench for pots and use a container for MPC. Beneath it I have a simple gravel floor. This works well.

    You'll need a bench, that's for sure. I bought a wooden workbench from B&Q and screwed a larger piece of chipboard on top to make it bigger.
    Some plastic dustbins if you are super tidy to put compost, gravel, sharp sand in. One for perlite or vermiculite also.
    Couple of pails to mix your compost of choice.
    Lots of nails to hang tools on. 
    Shelves etc for pots and trays. 
    A seat or stool.
    Just the normal run of the mill stuff - nothing specialised.

     Somewhere to put the kettle, mug, teabags and biccy tin :).

    thanks a million to every one.     I am not changing the actual structure just changing the interior.    I now have loads of ideas to work with especially the tea and biccy tin- brill idea.   The plastic bins are a great idea I would not have thought of that.   My first job is to clear out the shed and then plan out the empty space - and that's not daunting at all  :o:o:'(:'(

    A radio if you plan to spend lots of time in there. And a tap, preferably with sink), would be very useful!

    thanks for that - i love my music but of course no phone.   They are only a pain and best left in the house :)

    You could cut a window in your garage, and have Radio 2 on. Seriously, you do need some light. I use my back porch with two small plastic greenhouses inside and a washing machine. Having just pulled out most of this years annuals, i would say the potting shed is the best bit. I love to see these little seedlings come to life. Good luck with potting.

    thanks Purplerain for that.   I have a big window which looks out on my garden so I was thinking of putting my potting bench in front of window with a bench to sit on and putting shelves and bins at back wall.   I like the idea of shelves and small bins within arms reach.   The larger equipment will be at the back wall - lawnmower, bins etc

    That's my basic idea - just have to flesh it out once I clear the space.   I just want everything in the right place in my mind before I do any permanent fixtures
