Young soft bay leaves is it worth freezing them?

My bay tree needs a prune. 
I was wondering if it's worth freezing some of the young shoots as they would be soft enough to eat or shall I continue to pick the mature ones as and when and discard after cooking?
In London. Keen but lazy.

    You could dry them? Easy to do and then you have the option of crumbling them or using them as for the older leaves

    Thanks raisingirl. It's a big bush/tree so I don't need to dry them. It just seems a waste to throw them on the compost heap.
    Perhaps I'll leave them at the front gate and see if anyone wants them

    ... the dried bay leaves also smell nice when you burn them on a bbq or in a fire (like sage). I like to put them on the wood stove.

    I use some in the smoker when I'm smoking fish. I keep some dried just for that.

    Apparently frozen bay keeps its flavour better than dried but fresh is best if you have a bush in the garden.
    Unlike the brain, the stomach warns you when it's empty.

    The smell of fresh bay leaves off the bush, is one of the finest smells in the world.
