Can I buy Soraya seed potatoes in UK?

I have grown my own potatoes for domestic consumption for years but none of them compares in flavour to a variety I bought from a supermarket a few weeks ago, Soraya. They were absolutely delicious and made superb roasts and oven chips! These potatoes were from a supplier in East Anglia and my online research suggests that Soraya is a commonly grown variety elsewhere in Europe and the USA. I would love to grow them here in the Scottish Borders, from certified seed. However I cannot identify any suppliers of Soraya seed potatoes in the UK. Can anyone help? Many thanks!

  • As all else seems to have failed, I'd suggest you contact the supermarket from which you purchased your original potatoes.

At the very least they should be able to tell you where they obtained them fromimage

Also my favourite potato of the moment. Soraya makes the best baked potatoes ever. Good luck with your hunt for a supplier.

Soraya are only sold commercially by the tonne.  Best option is to wait until they are on special at Tesco at reduced price and buy a couple of bags.  That's what I did this year and had a pretty good yield.
