Inherited olive tree...need help

I was given the following tree (left on my doorstep in sept 2017. It doesnt look healthy and i watered (lightly as it was dry at the time) since, winter has arrived and it got soaked (paris) I've now brought it in to dry out .. should I prune it or is it dead?

    To upload photo start with the camera icon.  If it still doesn't appear reducing the size of the photo usually works.

    if it's loading you'll see a green line running across the bottom of the tyhping box. 

    I reduce the size of my photos, camera and phone, to 30% of the original
