Thank you, Nutcutlet. I certainly fill the bird feeders with all sorts of seeds, though they're not that close to the apple tree.
I've googled "millet" and one of the photos( bottom photo) certainly looks a bit like "my" grass (top picture). I will leave it there just for the bird seed. I hope I don't end up with a gardenful of the stuff!
