Indoor plant

I need a plant identified which was bought by my son. It has curly green leaves which are about half inch thick and curl over the top of the pot. It has 6 green stems with long thin like red buds about 2.5 inches at the top in length and curled like a cigar. I expected them to open but the look like they are going off colour and dying.

The green is healthy but after 2 months the buds have still not opened.

I believe it is from the bromelaid family.image

I'm afraid I have no answer for you but by commenting I will have bumped this thread (your question) to the top of the forum where hopefully someone much more educated than I will answer.

It's Bilbergia nutans sometimes called Queens Tears. It's behaving normally and the beautiful flowers will open in their own good time.

Keep it in filtered light and keep the compost damp but not soggy.

    Enjoy. image
