I have a beautiful Syringa emodi Aurea which looks very healthy with large golden leaves but it has never flowered.
What might cause this?

Not enough sunlight (6+ hours) or pruning at the wrong time of the year

Do you prune the Centre out and prune the rest back alittle every year?. If you do leave it for a couple of years to rest and gain strength for the next year
Haven't pruned this plant since planting a few years ago. Planted against an East facing fence but gets sun from first thing in the morning until mid afternoon.
Looks very healthy.
