How soon are bluebell seeds viable?
I was walking through our local bluebell woods and came across a message on the path spelled out in bluebells - it was two foot high and several bluebells deep. Someone had picked several hundred bluebells (several thousand individual flowerheads) to do it, which were just about to start to wilt.
It was a carrier bag full so I picked them up and distributed them along the hedgerows on the way back. I still have a lot of them - I've put the ones with stalks in water but my question is:
will any of them produce viable seed if I dry out the flowerheads? They've been out for a week or so I'd hope they'll have been pollinated. Any advice welcome and thanks in advance.
