Hi my Albert Bartlets got hit by frost in west yorkshire last week , i am not sure what to do? Should i dig them up?? Connie
They will resprout from beneath soil level. Make sure they are well earthed up for the next month.
Thanku fidgetbones( great username by the way) i thought that might seal in disease? But i will give it a try
I agree with Fidget. It'll slow them down a bit but they'll be fine as long as you keep earthing them up. Much better than fleecing. Sometimes both is good, but always earth up.
Mine got frosted last year. Earthed up as described by others they did fine
This late frost and north wind after fine weather have caught a lot of plants out. My potatoes caught it too, and even the new leaves on the ivy on the top of a wall are blackened with frost. I've never seen frost-damaged ivy before.
