First year of growing a Canna (like a lot of other plants) and i wondered what the little shoot at the edge of the pot is? New leaves? Another plant? Is it good or bad

Looks like another Canna shoot.
Certainly nothing to worry about.
Cause he thinks she melts when he touches her
She knows she's the chocolate girl
Cause she's broken up and swallowed
And wrapped in bits of silver
beware! Cannas are addictive
