Every day for four years I have passed this tree and wondered what it was. It has the most beautiful Autumn colour, which is just starting now.

    I think that's Fraxinus angustifolia 'Raywood' aka Raywood's Ash

    there are lots around the parkway plantings in Peterborough, lovely trees

    Thanks Nutcutlet.  Four year mystery finally solved. Wish we had planted one of those in our garden 4 years ago, rather than a (fairly) dull Walnut.

    There are a few in Norwich - I'd not noticed one before I came here and saw them turning that wonderful deep bronze at this time of year image
