Hi , i have sown some canterbury bells about 3-4 weeks ago  for planting out in the autumn . Only a few have germinated so is it too late to sow some more ?. My Foxgloves are germinating much better so i do not know what i have done wrong .

I was also wondering the same, will stay perched. They're one of my favourites but I've never grown them.

Should be still be ok to still sow them now but you might have to overwinter them in pots if they don't grow enough.  As biennials they won't flower until next summer of course.

I sowed some last year at this point. They were doing really well during the summer but rotted away during the winter in my cold frame - I wonder if I watered them too much?

Sounds like it I'm afraid. Not many things need watering outside in the winter - no growing going on you see.

Yeah might as well give it another chance as they do look  an amazing flower. I had them in 3 inch cardboard pots, which meant that dried out pretty quickly, which is why I ended up over watering them.

Thanks everyone , should i keep them indoors by a cool window as i have very little room outside at the moment ?

I will be Sooty because of the slugs and snails going after the smallest shoots. Little buggers image
