Holly

have just purchased 2 holly tress, about 2 1/2ft tall. As I have a small courtyard garden can I keep them in pots?

The RHS website says that it is bushy, spreading and grows to 2.5 metres tall.

If the pots are large enough to accommodate a heavy evergreen of that size and shape then why not?

Pot it up while it's smallish as you'll never move it once it puts on some muscle.image

  • Yes I read that but I wondered if it was restricted in a pot it might not get that big. as there is no mention of growing it in a pot I didnt know what might happen.

Anything will grow in a pot if the pot is big enough.image If you buy a pot which is 70 x70 x70 cms I would think you would be safe at least for the next ten years.
