help and advice

Hi all

Have just finished refurbishing our whole house and it's time for the outside space.

So I've built a large arc bad and sort of divided it into 3. I have an acer in the middle bed near the back then on the right I want a" cool" bed. Blues purples black  etc.

In the left bad it's hot colours red oranges and yellows etc

TThe beds are loam well drained neutral ph. South facing but a bit exposed to wind.

Please please some recommendations for planting would be great .

Shrubs and lowish maintainence be best.

Thanks folks.

Iain

Penstemons are good. Have a look at Heavenly Blue, White Bedder, Sour Grapes and Raven - I've got all 4. They are easy, will last a few years (cuttings are easy to increase stock) and flower for months on end. Between 2ft to 3ft

Have a look at some of the bigger nurseries online to get some idea of what you can get or go down to your nearest garden centre. There are hundreds, if not thousands of plants available so you need to choose the ones you like and check they will like the conditions.
