Victoria plum tree help

I need some advice regarding my plum tree as I have no gardening skills myself.

My plum tree came out in a good amount of blossom , I pruned a few of the branches that were crossing over etc to aid the fruit in late April early May at the blossom stage.

My tree has suddenly become wilted, the leaves are turning yellow brown and dropping off and fruit looks like it's becoming dehydrated. We have had a lot of rain recently so it's not dry and the ground is well drained so it's not boggy either. I haven't noticed a silver sheen to the leaves and having cut off one or two of the smaller branches, although a slightly darker central ring it doesn't look brown.

I can't see any aphids , leaves aren't curling over though there are a few holes in some of the leaves, but not too many.

The tree is about 8 years old.

I don't know how to proceed because I don't want to make matters worse!

Please help!!!!

Thank you
