Hi all, I noticed this on one of my pond plants, any idea what it can be?
Looks like it is a spiders nest ...
A strange looking spidey indeed. No idea TBH but doesn't look anywhere near as intimidating as the raft/water spiders.
I think it's one of these 'Long-jawed Orb-weaver Spider'
'When frightened Long-jawed Orb-weaver spiders lie flat out with their legs stretched out in a straight line. This allows them to hide behind thin vegetation.'
