Hi all
I have these in a border which I rejuvenated last year, I dug them up and found some good sized tubers so replanted them in a couple of places. they have shot up everywhere. they grew ok last year but the foliage didn't die down at all over winter.
I figured a dahlia originally and they flowered very well couple of years ago but I thought dahlias died off in winter. I also thought delphinium foliage possibly?
before I dug them up they grew to approx. 5-6ft tall
Any ideas please

Would say Aconitum napellus, monk's hood...
Did they stay at that height and green all winter? or as a bit of green at the base?
In the sticks near Peterborough
they were tubers only mid summer last year, shoots approx. a foot high through winter to 3-4ft now.
