Oh 'eck!

My lovely well established honeysuckle which was just about to bloom is covered in black things on the leaves and greyish bobbly things on the flowers.

I guess they are aphids.  Please could I have some advice from you friendly lot on how to get them to clear off?

Have I had it for this year as far as my Honeysuckle goes?

Thank You

The organic way is to spray them off with a hose (doesn't work for me) or a sprayer filled with water and a few drops of washing up liquid (sort of works a bit).

Or get a chemical spray - there are several for aphids that do not contain nasty stuff, my neighbour uses something made by Baby-Bio that's not got any nasty stuff in it.

It would also help to give your honeysuckle some tlc - a good drench with seaweed extract every couple of weeks and a compost mulch will give it a boost.
