Advice on privacy hedge/screen please

alemanaleman Posts: 3

hi there,

In order to get some privacy in our garden I was thinking of getting some very large planters (100 x 50 x 40 cm) and growing a small hedge in them. Please see the picture below. The planters would go on the path below alongside the wall. The aim is to block the view from the road.

I was wondering if this is a sensible/feasible idea and what the best type of hedge to get would be? A 1.5m hedge I think would be great.

I was considering privet, bamboo or even beech to match the existing hedge.

Any advice much appreciated.

Any planters big enough for a hedge would take up virtually half the width of the path.

It doesn't look feasible to me.

    Thanks for replying.

The path and gate aren't in use - it doesn't matter if the planters span the whole width of the path.
