why are my dianthus flowers going blind

The first flush of flowers on my pinks are great ,then on the second flush most of the buds are hollow, why is this I cannot see any bugs, could it be they are too dry?

    Just remove those - it's quite common. Keep them well fed and watered, but make sure the drainage is really sharp. I frequently get the same issue and that's what I do with mine image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    That's good Roy - they don't like wet feet - a bit like me!

    I think it's just one of those things- it certainly doesn't seem to affect the plants long term  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
