Plant ID, ground cover and fragrant

michaelw1michaelw1 Posts: 34

Hello,

We have a low ground cover type plant that's growing from relatively shallow thin white roots. It's about 25cm high and has spread quite far. It's got quite a fragrant mint-like smell when pulled up, but not exactly mint as I know it. Thrives in shade under a hydrangea.

Have pulled up a lot of the roots, but small fragments are still shooting up. It breaks very easily making it difficult to lift the roots.

I got a photo of the latest one I've pulled up. Can anyone help me identify?
