Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site (& gardening) and in need of some advice to a pear tree I have acquired when moving house.
It looks a little worse for wear to be honest and just wondered if a good prune this winter will help it along?
It has already blossomed and fruit beginning to show.

Your pear tree sounds quite good to me, I've had no blossom this year probably because of the cold spring and I'm a bit windswept up here! The link below gives some guides for pruning pear trees, I would probably just cut out any bits that look dead - easier to spot now that the tree is in leaf - and then just a tidy up in the winter.
