hosta's

hi wonder if anyone can help me

I have quite a few hosta's in tubs all seem fine apart from one blue one which last year started to grow and then faded away like the leaves seem to get some disease and some fungus on the base of the stems

this year only a little bit of it has come up even though I repotted it and it doesn't look healthy at all . It use to be quite a bit plant with lovely blue leaves

any suggestions what I do ?

Has it had mulch or too much compost/soil round the neck of the plant? The blue ones can be a little trickier sometimes, but the  main culprits for damage are slugs and snails. Do you know what variety it is? Some of them need more sun to maintain the colour too. Perhaps it's in too shady a spot.

Hostafan is at work just now - he might be around later  to help you if no one else can. As you can tell from the name - he's our resident Hosta expert  image

Thanks Fairy. I'd call myself a "fan" not an "expert".

David, when you re-potted it, did you see any sign of vine weevil? I've had some near disasters in the past with them.

Hosta - have you suddenly discovered modesty in your old age? image
