Hi I've just joined this forum . I bought a delphinium magic fountain which I want to grow in a pot on the patio.Will this grow OK in a pot and would I need a large pot?
Magic Fountain will grow to about 3 feet so if even from a stability question you will need a largeish pot. I am growing them myself for the first time this year but mine are in the ground. The only thing I would say about it growing in a pot is that they do not give a flower show for a long period so it will be decorative for only a short space of time and then you will have to hide it away from view and replace the space with something else. It may be that you do not have any ground to plant it in and/or you may be trying to protect it from slug attack, but I think it would be better in the ground.
