Annual blue grass

Hello
i have a new lawn 8 months old and there are patches of annual blue grass dotted around.
i would like to eradicate this but just don't know how to go about it.
any advise would be grateful

They're the flowerheads of poa annua (the subject of a recent post on this forum). The only way you'll get rid of it is by weeding it out, plant by plant. Treating it with any sort of weedkiller will damage the other grasses around, as well. Mowing will remove the flower heads and it'll give up by mid summer
