Sweetcorn

Hi everyone, I have some Sweetcorn plants, Mini Pop, they are about 8 - 10 ins tall & outside  in poly stand which had been open day & night for about 3 weeks, I was wondering if I should plant them out now as they are now to tall for the shelves they are on. I live in Fareham, Hampshire so a warmer part of the country.

I have no back up plants in the greenhouse so don't want to loose them.

Will be grateful for any advice.

I think you should be safely free of frosts by now but you could always protect them with a layer of fleece if a late one is forecast.

Plant them in a block, rather than in rows, to get maximum pollination.

Thanks , I will give it's go & plant them out & keep the fleece ready incase we get really cold nights.

Think they will be happier in the ground where they can spread out there roots a bit more.

Yes.  Their roots like to go deep.
