Hi

last year i ordered an elaeagnus x ebbingei which has been in the ground for 7 months

now:

* all the leaves have drooped

* some have turned yellow and will drop off

* the top ones tend to be non shiney green/brown and have small white spots/speckles

* the plant gets the afternoon summer sun

it looks like it has some kind of disease

coudl anyone advise on whats happened and if its possible to treat ?

Kind Regards

Bex

    Of your points

    1. droopyness is often a sign of dryness

    2. Evergreens don't keep their leaves forever, old ones turn yellow and fall, new ones grow

    3. those new leaves are normal

Agree with previous answers. Looks a perfectly healthy plant. However it looks too close to the fence on first picture! It might quickly grow to invade your neighbours if you don't control it.image

IT'S TRUE THAT THEY GROW TALL, BUT THE ARE EASY TO KEEP TRIMMED AND THEY AREN'T THE USAIN BOLT OF THE PLANT WORLD.

I HAVE HAD ONE CLOSE TO A BOUNDARY FENCE FOR ABOUT TEN YEARS. IT'S MAYBE EIGHT FEET HIGH BUT I KEEP IT SLIM AND IT DORSN'T SEEM TO MIND.
