Stipa tenuissima
does anyone cut their stipa tenuissima back at this time of year?
I'm I emailed rhs last year and asked them how they stopped their stipa tenuissima from flipping and they said they cut it right back each year.
I'm sure this isn't the 'rule' for this grass, you are meant to just comb it through with hands. I did cut it back last year with success.
I just wondered if anyone else did it and am I too late to do it this year?

You should cut it down in early Spring before the new growth starts to show, if yours is growing now you could try carefully cutting the old stuff out being careful to leave the new shoots.
