Vine Weevil in compost
I have a number of pots which have become infested with vine weevil, so I am carefully removing the plants and re-potting with fresh compost. The question is what to do with the old infested compost. In the past I have dug 'spent' compost from my patio pots into the soil in my vegetable patch and I would like to do this again. I have several patches where I could use it and am planning growing sweet corn and courgette on one, peas and beans on another or brassicas on a third. Any thoughts?

I usually spread it out on an old tarpaulin or sheet of plastic for a couple of days and let the birds scrabble around in it and get the grubs - then I tip it onto the veg patch.

Good idea .... I'll do that!
