New hedge

Hi, I would be grateful for some help on deciding which berberis to buy. I live on a corner plot and want to plant a hedge around it. I think I've decided on berberis because it's prickly but there are so many varieties. I only want it about 1 meter high. I've read that it's quite hardy and grows in most soils. Also ive never purchased online before and I'm a little worried because I'll be spending a lot of money. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you take a look at some of the hedging specialists online, you'll get lots of choice of Berberis. The purple ones are deciduous, so probably not what you want. Darwinni is the usual choce, and you can keep it to the height you want. It's fairly trouble free and easy - like most Berberis.

I've used Hopes Grove nursery online for hedging and they've always been excellent. image

Thanks Fairygirl, I've just been looking at the Darwinni and like the look of it. I'll look at Hopes Grove. When I google hedges 'best4hedging.co.uk' keeps coming up...do you know anyone that has used them.
