Honeysuckle fungus

Hi,
I have a Honeysuckle in a pot and have cut it down to 2" high, I have done this two times and still the plant gets effected and eventually looses all its leaves,
What is the fungus? and how do I get rid of it permanently?

Mildew, usually a result of being to dry which easily happens in a pot. A honeysuckle is a big plant and better in the ground.
In the sticks near Peterborough
I will trim it back before I put it into the ground, would I deed to spray it with anything to kill off any spaws
