What is this tree
paulonia tomentosum?
CRUMBS, MANCHESTER'S LOOKING UP.
Thank you so much thought they reminded me of a flower but couldn't put my finger on it
sometimes called the Wisteria tree.
ARE THEY STREET TREES?
I MUST LOOK OUT FOR THEM NEXT TIME I'M OVER THERE.
I seem to remember them near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
They are often coppiced, like dogwood as this encourages stunning HUGE leaves especially if only one stem is allowed to grow.

aka the foxglove tree
Yes they are near the new tram service on Peter Street. Never noticed before, obviously never seen them in spring. They really are pretty.
