What colour red to paint my fence

hi,

I want to paint my fence Chinese red but don't know what colour or were to find it.

my husband and I have designed our garden with a Chinese theme and would love to find the correct colour we have tried the usual cedar reds that you can find readily in the stores but none are red enough they are all to brown.

can anyone advise or tell me were to find a nice red, but not to red like fire engine red?

many thanks.

If you have a Chinese themed garden then I assume you already have lots of red and gold/yellow in the garden? I would have though a more sympathetic and easy to find shade such as black might be an alternative choice. Black is a perfect foil for all shades within a garden. Just a thought. image

I'd go black as well. Too much red and it might look like a massacre's happened!

The red should be for highlights and features rather than being the dominant colour.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Totally agree with Ladybird.

You could use red sparingly as an 'accent colour' and I would go with a proper deep red!

I think B&Q have a garden colour mixing service (Valspar paint range).
