"Ruby Slippers Oak Leaf Hydrangea
FedEx just delivered my two new oak leaf hydrangeas yesterday. https://www.longfellowsgarden.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/plants.plantDetail/plant_id/11046/index.htm. They were packed so well and they look so healthy! Both even have a little bloom pod on the stalk already! I will be planting them in my front garden shade.
The lady here before me here planted out a lot of nice stuff, but it's all GREEN and nothing blooms out front but a couple rose bushes on the other side of the garden. Hope these like our soil and climate. I'll have to acidify the soil a bit I'm sure, as ours is slightly alkaline. They should look marvelous in front of all the dark bamboo Nandina and Cast Iron Plants in this bed for a back-drop.

Here's what they look like right out of the box:
Well, I've never seen anything like them. I'm looking forward to seeing the blooms !
They really are going to be pretty one day. The foliage is spectacular in the Fall as it turns fall colors. Here are lots of photos if you want to take a gander: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=Ruby+Slippers+Hydrangeas+images&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001
I'll be sure and post photos of my blooms when they get established. I just love hydrangeas.

Nice Peggy.
I have two of the white ones. The foliage in autumn is gorgeous
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Oh, how pretty. Now I'm really excited to plant them tomorrow.
Thanks so much for sharing your photo, Fairygirl.
