Digging in

Hi, I currently live in a new build house. The garden has recently been rotorvated and I have subsequently added a layer of well rotted manure on top. I am now in the process of digging this manure in but the soil is extremely hard and difficult to break down in certain areas. I was wondering what the best way forward would be? Do I need to have the ground re rotorvated so that the soil will combine easily with the manure or will this damage the soil? Thank you!

Sounds like you have clay soil? The best thing, if you're not in a tearing hurry, is to let the worms dig it in for you for now. If it's been dry where you are for a while, as it has here, they clay will be resembling bricks until the next decent rain we get.

Clay soil does come good but it takes a few seasons
