i planted 25 gladioli corms around 28th april... about 4 inch deep image nothing showing yet

    mine are still in from last year and are only just showing. Give it time.

    i had some many years ago but neglected them and they eventually died off i have a sprout showing about half an inch am not sure if that may be one left still going or a new one... i keep looking everyday so glad to get back into the garden after winter image thanks for reply by the way

    I have recently planted some new ones in pots and there's nothing showing in one and short shoots from the other kind - neither is the big blousy Dame Edna kind.

    I received 5 free gladiola bulbs with my last nursery order.  Potted them and the color will be a surprise.  My gran used to grow gladiolas but this will be my first experience with glads.  They also sent me 3 peach Amaryllis exotica, and 5 Harlequin bulbs but have no idea the color.   All will be a surprise indeed when they come up. :)

    I have a couple peeking through about an inch.  There were 5 lovely purples planted in a group two years ago.  First year - flowered beautifully.  Last year - massive leaves - no flowers.  Looks like they are coming up again this year but might as well dig them out if they won't flower.  The leaves looked so bloomin' healthy and strong as well.

    If the leaves come up really well - but they didn't flower at all last year - should I maybe feed them now or should I just pull them out?

    I have no idea about gladiola - but maybe I should just dig them out and use the space for something else.

    I planted some Byzantine glads in a pot about 4 weeks ago and they are just starting to shoot up.

    Try giving a feed of liquid rose or tomato food to your glads as an instant tonic to encourage flowering as well as some slow release granules for tomatoes or roses to build them up.

    Mine in a pot, sown last year, now peeping up nicely. I have also sown some Peacock ones this year (Gladiolus acidanthera - peacock orchid).

    My garden and I live in South Wales.
