Help unknown weed or plant!

We have this plant or weed that is totally taking over our garden! It has purple flowers in autumn! What is it and what is the best way to get rid of it?

    One of the asters, Michaelmas Daisies, I should think. A lot of them are very weedy and invasive

    Any suggestions on the best way to get rid of it there's loads of it???

    Brute force and ignorance is what I use. Big Fork, big spade, maybe a mattock image

    Digging it out is always the best way, regardless of the problem!
