Star Jasmine leaves not looking healthy

Hello everyone, It's been a while since I posted but I've been looking longingly out of my window all winter and I'm so excited now my plants have started to shoot into life outside.

My Star Jasmine isn't looking too healthy though. Please could you diagnose the problem so I can help the poor thing?

Thankyou!image

It looks pretty dry, if it's newly planted it'll need watering until it establishes itself. I would also feed with fish, blood & bone sprinkled around the base and forked in. It is normal for Trachelospermum jasminoides to shed older leaves around now, just like any other evergreen. The reds are normal after autumn.

Yes agree with mark, have just planted two new ones against a wall . they started dropping leaves and looking bad, kept them watered and fed with f.b.b.now starting to pick up.  p.s dont overwater as this will do the same.

  • Thankyou both. Its been in since about august last year so not new but I shall get some bfb around it and hope for the best.

I would also look at improving the soil. It looks pretty much spent by the colour. FBB will help in the short term but not long term. Dig in some new compost or better composted manure on a regular basis.
